3 Player Pong

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

The 2 player game has now developed into a 3 player game.
Ive been working on passing all the variables to the shared object so each player can see the ball and the movement of the paddles.

Social Navigation thoughts…

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I recently posted this question:

What do you think the social impact of mapping the internet to everyday life would be?

The ideas form the members were quite mixed but most focused on the fact it was just a reason to play with technology. All seemed to like the idea but i dont think many of them thought it was a practical idea.

Even for forum with members who are mostly computer guys who work in the industry, this subject did seem to be a bit over the top for them.

further thoughts

With this project I have been researching into social navigation on different levels form looking at history the way skills are passed down from generations and also what it would be like if there wasnt any type of social navigation.

My movie will reflect on these thoughts and begin by showing the basics of what it is. Once this has been shown i want to look at other angles that arent so obvious.

New ideas

My initial proposal was to investigate the communication of images through time.

Ive experimented with rotoscoping and i like the results i had such as the footballer that is on this site.
However ive been researching social navigation for both my final project and my dissertation and i have decided to make a clip about this so i can further explore the area.

Social navigation is a huge subject and can be seen in many different ways from onling experiences to everyday life. I will be looking at them both and showing what social navigation is.

I will be looking at making an abstract movie showing the effects social navigation.

2 Player Pong

Monday, November 7th, 2005

I’ve been researching into the flash communication server and ive now made a decision to look into making a 2 player game of pong.

I want to make it so that two players can play it over the internet using two computer where ever they are.
I will look into limiting the game to only two players and also to include more than one ball using an object orientated approach.
